UFC featherweights Dan Ige and Gavin Tucker will meet in the middle at UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs Muhammad. Chiefly, Tucker stepped in to face Ige in place of Ryan Hall, who was removed after sustaining an injury. Gavin Tucker will now be looking to maximize his main card booking against a fighter who has been a ‘main event fighter’.
The featherweight title will be contested at UFC 260 as Alexander Volkanovski aims to defend his belt. The division is rather top-heavy when it comes to contenders and is in need of high-level newcomers. Chiefly, Ige and Tucker both fit that bill in their own way and they’ll be looking to cash in big on Saturday.

Dan Ige is excellent at the fundamentals of striking, and he’s able to box in opponents despite any size discrepancy. This will be especially helpful against someone who likes to fight at range and create distance with each strike. Ige is no slouch when it comes to stuffing any take-down attempts, and he’ll be keen to play out his strategy.

Gavin Tucker is on a three-fight win streak and he beat Billy Quarantillo in his last outing at UFC 256. Prior to that, he etched two straight RNC submission wins, showcasing that he’s truly a threat on the mat. However, as mentioned before, getting Ige down to the canvas is no mean feat and will require an output of its own.

Moreover, he’ll need to be wary of explosive strikes like incoming knees if he looks to drive in from far range. Dan Ige is a cerebral fighter with durability to him that’s held him in good stead thus far in his career. The bout certainly has Fight of the Night written all over it and fans will be looking to see if a clear-cut contender emerges.
