Jack Hermansson breaks it down

The Swede-Norwegian fighter is admittedly a student of the sport and this can be seen in his analysis. He has shown to be well-versed in the nuances of the game as well as fight promotion. He previewed the main event for July 25 and had clearly picked a favorite going into the fight.

“I believe that Whittaker has that style that Darren Till has a problem with, the blitz you know. The shift in tempo is very quick, he comes in with quick combinations. Darren Till is a little bit flat-footed he has a big opening when he fights,” Hermansson said.

Hermansson went on to reference Darren Till’s last defeat in the promotion which came via Jorge Masvidal. The brutal knockout loss was the final straw that made the Englishman move-up to Middleweight. Additionally, the fight was the starting point for the astronomic popularity ‘Gamebred’ went on to attain.

Hermansson said, “You saw what Masvidal did there when he blitzed against him and I feel like Robert Whittaker might pull something that looks like that.”

Jack Hermansson is coming off from arguably the biggest win of his career over Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Fight Night 172. The first-round heel hook finish has gone a long way in reminding fans that the 21-5 fighter is still a massive threat. Not to mention, his statement performance helped him move past his loss to Jared Cannonier back in September 2019.
