UFC 252: Stipe Miocic vs Daniel Cormier
The consensus Heavyweight GOAT finally got the famed status in the aforementioned trilogy fight with DC. The bout went to the judge’s scorecards and served as an entertaining back and forth technical clinic. Moreover, there were controversial aspects of the 5-round fight that became a talked-about narrative.
Both marquee fighters, unfortunately, exchanged fouls in the form of eye-pokes during the fight. The unintentional fouls went a long way in disrupting the challenger?s vision going into the championship rounds. It later surfaced that Daniel Cormier suffered a torn cornea at the hands, more specifically fingers, of Stipe.
The MMA community was up in arms after the fight as the narrative largely surrounded the eye-pokes. Fans of the sports took to Twitter and expressed their displeasure over the unintentional yet repetitive pokes in the cage. However, as time moves on, the fight will surely be remembered more for its legacy in UFC?s storied history.
