Following Tyson Fury’s mesmerizing comeback against Deontay Wilder, a number of fighters have been lining up to take on the British heavyweight champion. Dillian Whyte, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder looking for a third fight are one of them. However, Tyson Fury has recently expressed a keen interest in competing in MMA. Stipe Miocic looks like a worthy opponent.

Stipe has also engaged in a back and forth with Fury regarding this. The 37-year-old fighter is more than willing to take on a fellow heavyweight champion of the world. Miocic boasts of a record of 19-3-0, coming off of a title win against Daniel Cormier, the American fighter is on a high.

Stipe Miocic opens up about the potential fight while in conversation with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani. However, Fury has a couple of conditions if he is to pick up a fight with Miocic. He is willing to fight inside a cage wearing the 4-ounce gloves, but he wants to follow the rules of boxing.

“That makes no sense. Boxing rules in a cage. Yeah whatever, I’m down with everything. Sure yeah, I’m down. 100% I would do it. I’d rather do a boxing match. Straight boxing, boxing gloves, ring, all that stuff, wear the 40lbs gear to walk out in. Whatever.”- Stipe Miocic

A little reluctant at first Miocic is still willing to take on the fighter in a fight with modified rules. He admits while talking to Ariel Helwani when the fight was brought up.

Instead of a full-on MMA or boxing fight, Fury suggests a mixture of the two.

“I don’t want to go into an MMA fight, like rolling around on the floor and all that. I would fight one of their champions in small gloves. Maybe in a cage, but with boxing rules … with UFC gloves. With the four-ounce gloves, that would be good for me.”- Tyson Fury
