Olympic champion and former 2-weight UFC champion, Henry Cejudo may have retired from the mixed martial arts once, but his fighting days aren’t over. ‘Triple C’ made his intentions quite clear that he would love to jump into the sport of boxing against 23-year-old boxer Ryan Garcia.
The American boxer fights in the lightweight division, and he is still unbeaten. His counterpart, Cejudo, has suffered his fair share of losses and has amassed an insane resume as a fighter.

During the conversation with Dave ‘Schmo’ Schmulenson, the former UFC champion, Henry Cejudo, talked about the sport of boxing and the highly competitive lightweight division. Schmo compared Garcia with the likes of Manny Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Marquez, Gervonta Davis and more. But this comparison did not sit well with the UFC fighter.
UFC star Henry Cejudo urged Ryan Garcia to step up
Clearly irked by the comparison, Cejudo attacked the modern-day fighters and Garcia for avoiding certain match-ups. He also stated that Garcia isn’t comparable, as he spends a lot of his time on social media and doesn’t take up the right fights.
Cejudo said, “Yeah, I go back and I look at the history of that weight class. I mean, look at Morales and Barrera. How these guys fought everybody. How Manny Pacquiao fought, Márquez, Barrera, Erik Morales, you know what I am saying? I don’t see that with these guys, and that’s kind of what frustrates me with the sport of boxing.”

He continued, “I think I think Tank Davis needs to fight another big-name dude, I think he needs to fight the winner of Kambosos and David Haney and I think Ryan Garcia really has to earn his spot due for a world title to fight for a world title. You know right now, he’s still and he is a great boxer man, I am not gonna deny man. Ryan Garcia is a great boxer, but he’s a social media wh*re.”
