Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley are set to face each other in one of the most anticipated fights of the year. This fight will be Paul’s 4th professional boxing match, while Woodley will make his boxing debut. However, before the fight with Woodley was finalized, there were various other fighters that were in contention for fighting ‘The Problem Child.’
From various popular UFC fighters to Tommy Fury, they touted many people as opponents of Paul. In the end, though, they chose former UFC champion Woodley as his opponent. During a recent interview, Woodley talked about how the fight came to be.

He said, “Ben said, after the loss about who should he fight next. He said he should fight Tyron. I’m like all right, I’ll fight him. From that point and then the locker room thing. He had choices. I will give him props. He could have picked Fury’s cousin, He could have picked the other person who I’m definitely not gonna give.”
“He picked me out of those three. I am the toughest opponent out of those three. He did pick the toughest opponent. I don’t know what he would have made with those guys, but I think he would have made more fight with me, because of my credentials to MMA. He picked the tougher opponent for more money.”

Ever since Paul defeated Ben Askren in a boxing fight via a 1st round TKO, people have started believing that the fighter can compete against top opponents. However, as ‘Funky’ was not known for his striking abilities, many people still think Paul might face problems with someone who has proper striking skills.
Woodley is known to be one of the best strikers to be a part of MMA. Add to that the plethora of experience Woodley has, and one can see how this fight will be difficult for Paul.
