Joe Rogan, through the years, has made it very clear to his fans that he is a huge fitness enthusiast. Moreover, those who have been following Rogan’s podcast know that he’s hosted a number of influential people from the fitness industry.

The American podcaster has also revealed that he’s a huge bodybuilding fan and looks up to professional bodybuilders. Mostly the likes of Ronnie Coleman and Dorian Yates. Furthermore, both of them have made an appearance in his show.

The comedian had a real ‘Fan boy’ moment when he hosted British bodybuilder and six-time Mr. Olympia, Dorian Yates. 

Dorian Yates’ physique amazed Joe Rogan

At the very beginning of the Podcast, the host asks Yates about the year in which he burst into bodybuilding. Yates narrated that he came from the U.K. to Gold’s gym in the U.S. in 1992. Furthermore, he also competed in a bodybuilding competition in New York called Night of champions. He further revealed that he secured the second position in that competition.

The Brit told Rogan that during that time he also appeared in magazines. This made Rogan talk about how astonished [Rogan] used to get after watching Yates in those magazines.

Rogan said, “I remember watching you in those magazines… you were one of the first guys that I ever saw in a magazine and I was like gee, how the f*ck is that a person. You [Yates] were so big man, Jesus Christ! You were big”

Yates laughed upon hearing what Rogan had to say. Moreover, he added that even he looks back at those pictures and thinks the same. The bodybuilder said, “it’s funny because I look back at some pictures now of me and I say what the f*ck”

Both of them then burst into laughter and then Yates went on to explain how extreme is the sport of bodybuilding. Moreover, he even talks about how he never entered the sport with a mindset of winning but to just see how far he would go in 

Dorian Yates was the best of his generation

Dorian Yates is an English retired professional bodybuilder. He won the Mr. Olympia title six consecutive times from 1992 to 1997.

He has the fifth-highest number of Mr. Olympia wins in history, just behind Ronnie Coleman (8), Lee Haney (8), Arnold Schwarzenegger (7), and Phil Heath (7)

He retired in 1997, right before Coleman began his run of victories at Mr. Olympia. Many believe that he cleared the path for the future eight-time world champion by retiring.
