Cris Cyborg went up against Sinead Kavanagh in the main event of Bellator 271. Cyborg, who was defending her title for the third time, knocked Kavanagh out in the first round. Both fighters exchanged some shots before the champ landed a clean right hand, which wobbled her opponent. Another right hook followed, which put the Irish fighter on the canvas.
This was Cyborg’s fifth win in a row and 11th first-round knockout of her career. After the fight, the Brazilian hailed Kavanagh as one of the toughest women she has ever met. Conor McGregor was seen congratulating both women after the fight as well.
In a Tweet, he wrote, “Respect to a Proper gun fight! Congrats on getting to the title Sinead, a prestigious goal achieved! We dust it off and we go again! Congrats cyborg on defending. It will be a hard task for someone to beat her in this form.”

Kavanagh, who trains at the same gym as ‘The Notorious,’ would want to get her momentum back, and challenge for the title again soon. As far as Cyborg is concerned, she has options in front of her. One name that is gaining a lot of traction to fight her is Kayla Harrison. Two-time PFL lightweight champion, who was also at the fight, is now a free agent is looking at her options. What has Conor McGregor been up to?
The former two-division UFC champion is currently on the sidelines. McGregor, in his last fight against Dustin Poirier, broke his leg at the end of the first round. Since then, he is on the road to recovery. After a successful surgery, he recently started training again. However, the injury hasn’t kept him from feuding with fighters on Twitter. One such name is Max Holloway.
McGregor and Holloway have been going after each other for some time now. After Holloway, in an interview, said that he is always on the shortlist to fight the Irishman, McGregor was seen staring ‘Blessed’ down through his TV. During his introduction before the fight against Yair Rodriguez, ‘The Notorious‘ was pacing left and right while staring at the former UFC featherweight champion. He posted the video on Twitter, which has since been deleted by him.

Both men seem eager to fight each other. However, since McGregor is still injured, it is unlikely that they’ll fight soon. The Dublin native also had a war of words with Chael Sonnen recently. Former UFC fighter Sonnen in his show said that Conor McGregor is turning into a little rich weirdo. McGregor clapped back and called Sonnen a little broke weirdo.

This feud is going to be interesting if they keep at it, as Sonnen is one of the greatest trash talkers in MMA history. Fans will be excited to see these two have a go at each other.
