UFC 4 is a much more balanced game in comparison to its predecessors. The game’s launch has also been fairly successful as it managed to top the sales charts in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. With a change in the game’s mechanics, it now offers a much more realistic fighting experience that comes very close to what goes on in the Octagon.
Daniel Cormier has announced the latest rating changes to the game that make for an interesting read, but one change is not really surprising.
On a video posted by the official UFC 4 account on Twitter, Daniel Cormier made an appearance to provide an insight into the changes. Take a look at it below:

UFC 4 Rating adjustments explained by Daniel Cormier
Notable rating adjustments include a buff given to Israel Adesanya. His brilliant win over Paulo Costa at UFC 253 hasn’t gone unnoticed, as he now has additional power in his kicks and punches. Additionally, he is now a 5-star rated fighter.
On the other hand, Costa received a nerf based on his recent performance. As a result, he has reduced head strength and leg strength now.

Jan Blachowicz got a massive buff as his kick power, footwork, and punch power all increased. He is also now a 4 ½ star rated fighter overall. His impressive performance against Dominick Reyes earns him this buff. Reyes is now nerfed with reduced head strength, head movement, and footwork.
Lastly, Jake Matthews receives a buff in terms of punching power, cardio, and submission defense. These changes seem fair considering they are based on the players’ most recent performances. Although, it remains to be seen if other fighters have their ratings adjusted or not.

Nevertheless, this is still great work from the developers to keep the game interesting. Moreover, it also seems like Adesanya has managed to end the EA Cover curse for good. Adesanya and Masvidal were the stars of the UFC 4 cover at launch. Although, the curse claimed its first victim as Masvidal lost to Kamaru Usman at UFC 251. On the contrary, ‘The Last Stylebender’ managed to cruise to victory against Costa.
The next round of updates will be available soon after the next big fight. Keep watching this space for further updates.
