The middleweight division has a lot of eyes on it at the moment with Israel Adesanya making waves. Chiefly, he’s one of the most active fighters on the roster and the division is in constant need of new contenders. UFC 264: Yaozong Hu vs Alen Amedovski

Yaozong Hu is just 3-2 as a pro and he’s signed with the promotion after three straight stoppage wins. However, he hasn’t been able to get going in the organization and will receive his walking papers if he suffers another defeat. He’s got an opportunity as the card’s opener to use the platform that UFC 264 provides to make a massive impact.

Yaozong Hu is durable as he was tested across three rounds by Rashad Coulter in his last fight. Hu needs to be wary of Amedovski’s darting movement and could rely on low calf kicks to slow him down. Additionally, he’ll benefit from moving forward and taking the center of the cage instead of backing up.

Alen Amedovski is on a two-fight skid and much like his opponent is yet to pick up a win in the UFC. He entered the promotion as an undefeated prospect at 8-0 from Bellator MMA and had the potential to break out in a big way. However, his priority at the moment will be to secure a win and ensure he’s still on the roster comes Sunday morning.
