A shocking conclusion
The fight itself ended in shocking fashion after a fast start from both men. Conor McGregor landed heavy leg attacks from the beginning of the fight and pushed back Poirier. However, Poirier bounced back early and landed vicious ground and pound. However, a shocking accident took place as McGregor snapped his leg in a brutal fashion.

The ankle break came off a standing exchange wherein both men missed the mark. McGregor moved back on his left leg and snapped his ankle. Subsequently, ‘The Notorious’ was carried out on a stretcher.
The fight is officially in the books as a Doctor’s stoppage via TKO. Hence, Poirier has finally walked away with the trilogy in what was a long-standing rivalry.
