The UFC players take keen interest in the NBA and it is nothing new. The world has seen Colby Covington calling out LeBron James multiple times in a bid to provoke the 4x Champion into a possible fight. But recently, it was Sean O’Malley showering some fandom over the Phoenix Suns who are currently playing their NBA Finals series.

Montana born, Sean, is enjoying a dream run at the UFC with back-to-back victories. His latest win came over Kris Moutinho in UFC 264, a mega event with a McGregor vs Poirier trilogy promotion fight. However, what turned the heads of NBA fans was Sean’s pre and post-game words mentioning the Phoenix Suns.

Sean O’Malley and his rise with the Phoenix Suns

In a statement victory, Sean won the Bantamweight contest with a knockout in Round 3. But as the Emmy Award winning Sports Anchor, Vince Sapienza revealed, prior to the victory, Sean had a “Go Phoenix Suns” chant on his mind. 

Later, Sean began round 1 with a heavy combination of brutal strikes on a clueless Kris. He built an initial pressure with a head kick and continued the same in round 2. A series of back-and-front kicks and Sean was electrifying in the round that later saw his mouthpiece falling out and him showing some tiredness. However, in round 3, Sean’s firepower on Moutinho forced ref Herb Dean to stop the fight.

He later dedicated his extraordinary 14th MMA win to the Suns and said –

His post-fight words must give Chris Paul and men a boost

As clean as his punches were, Sean was in complete madness with his love for the Suns. After the game, the colorful zombie and a true champion, expressed, “Shout out to the Phoenix Suns. I was going for a little dribble, dribble, trying to finish him.” 

Chris Paul and men are 2-0 against the Milwaukee Bucks in NBA Finals 2021 with every odd in their favour. They are receiving tremendous support from NBA analysts, fans, and celebrities, all alike, the unison voice demanding a Suns-in-Four result. Although none of the Suns’ team members have reacted to Sean’s promotion on their name, Monty Williams’ men would be happy to have one such influential fan in stands.
