Joe Rogan reached out to his fans on his podcast to talk about the cancellation of UFC 249. The Coronavirus pandemic affecting each and every sphere of work and entertainment has brought half the world to their knees.

Rogan talks about the responsibility that rests upon the UFC President Dana White’s shoulders. He lauds White for dealing with such immense pressure so efficiently.

“Imagine being the President of the UFC, f**k all that. Imagine having all these fights that you have to make and having all this pressure on you. And you’re also like a famous guy like Dana is. Imagine being that guy.”- Joe Rogan

Rogan later jokes about how the only job that one has to deal with more pressure than White’s is that of President Donald Trump.

“F**k that job, President of the UFC is second only to the President of the United States. Bro, he’s under ridiculous amounts of pressure. He’s making a lot of the fights.”- Joe Rogan

It’s common knowledge that the UFC would not have become the huge force that it is now if it wasn’t for Dana White. White built the promotion from the ground up. He is a true stalwart in combat sports if not sports as a whole.

“He’s like a psychotic driving force for the most exciting organization in the world. And I don’t think the organization gets where it is without Dana White. You have a guy who doesn’t give a f**k, he’s a real man. He’ll talk shit, he’ll insult people. He’s nuts, he’s wild.”- Joe Rogan

Joe Rogan Suggested Using a Film Studio as a Venue

While in conversation with Joey Diaz in a previous edition of his popular podcast, Rogan suggested the use of film studios. The inspiration for the same comes from the time when the UFC organized fights for the military personnel in San Diego, Austin, North Carolina.

“They could do it in like a film studio. Legitimately they could set this up in a film studio somewhere. Tyler Perry’s got a place in Florida. They could go down to Florida, rent one of Tyler Perry’s gigantic studio.”- Joe Rogan

Rogan admits that the event could have been organized if the right safety precautions were taken. However, he also feels that the Coronavirus is a very new disease. No one has a cure for it yet which makes organizing an event of that magnitude quite risky.

“If this was like any other disease where we understood it better, I would be way more confident. We do [understand numbers]. But Michael Yo almost died. I don’t want people who are less robust than Michael Yo to die. So we gotta figure out what the f**k this virus is and how is it treated, what’s the most effective way. Then it makes that we’re a little bit more loose with our regulations”- Joe Rogan
