The UFC’s decision to continue organizing events, UFC 249 more specifically, has faced a lot of flak. One major concern when it comes to UFC 249 is, who among the crew will be present at the event to make sure that it takes place without a hitch. Daniel Cormier has become a cage-side staple and may continue his stint at the commentators’ desk.

There are a lot of factors that need to be considered before DC can confirm his presence. The main factor being the location. If the event will take place somewhere that is a drive away from DC’s house, one can count him in. As long as there is proper testing for Coronavirus.

“A lot of things have to deal with location, right? If its somewhere close and very accessible, I don’t see why you wouldn’t do it. They’re going to test everybody. Even if you aren’t showing symptoms of the coronavirus, you should still get tested anyway. So you could be better off than the people sitting home not getting tested.”- Daniel Cormier

Access to COVID-19 testing kits has been a challenge for not just normal people but several organizations, all over the world. However, Daniel Cormier is comfortable with taking part in the event as long as there is no unnecessary exposure. For he feels the problem lies in roaming around in public.

“Obviously Dana and the company has access to those tests. So if there’s going to be a safe situation, it’s going to be with those people in that arena, especially if you go from your car into the arena to do the fights, out of the arena and back home.”- Daniel Cormier

Being at the venue after everyone has been tested is as safe as it gets, for now. DC wants to avoid travel via airplanes to avoid unnecessary risk of infections.

“Unless you’re out there doing all kinds of random things, you’re pretty safe to call the fights. I don’t want to get on an airplane and go to an airport right now. But if it’s accessible, and I go there and get tested and get to call the fights and then go home, yeah, why not?”- Daniel Cormier

Many individuals have agreed to be a part of UFC 249. Even though the UFC has decided to withhold the location of the event. Bruce Buffer has confirmed his presence at the event.

The presence of Joe Rogan, on the other hand, is still uncertain. Though Dana White claims Rogan will be there, having declined to participate earlier, Rogan’s involvement is still a mystery.

Would you like to see DC and Rogan back at it on April 18th?
