Sean O’Malley made his highly anticipated return to UFC 248 by defeating Jose Quinonez in round number 1. O’Malley looked like he hadn’t missed a beat with the series of kicks and relentless pressure ending Jose’s night.

Sean O’Malley is making his return after 2 years due to suspension caused due to a series of failed drug tests. The substances that were found were present in a tainted supplement he consumed. ‘’The Suga Show’’ was on a run creating a certain buzz in bantamweight but a broken foot and the PED scandal derailed his career. O’Malley looked like a seasoned veteran inside the octagon with his very first attack dropping Quinonez.

Sean started the fight with a push kick straight to the chest immediately establishing his reach. From that point onwards Jose was troubled with every single shot seemingly unable to defend against his speed and reach. A quick counter hook sent Quinonez to the cage before a head kick and a flurry of punches sealed the victory for O’Malley.

The Win maintains O’Malley’s undefeated record and on the rise in the bantamweight division. This win meant a lot given the various issues O’Malley has faced.

Speaking during his post-fight interview, Sean O’Malley said
‘’ I felt great in there, it doesn’t feel like it’s been two years, but it’s good to be back.’’ I have been through a lot to get here, I had two surgeries, two pulled fights, it was a lot. I didn’t know how I would feel making that walk, I tried to picture it in my head so many times, but you never know until you are out there, I felt great, it felt right.’’
Sean O’Malley’s career was put off track given the series of injuries he faced. With a broken ankle and the tainted supplement scandal it seemed that ‘’The Suga Show’’ is over but with this comeback proved that the show is just getting started…
