Many believed that the controversies outside the octagon have damaged the public image of the former champion. However, the ticket sales for UFC 246 would completely contradict that notion.

This is a crucial matchup for the future of the lightweight division. UFC president, Dana White has already announced that if Conor McGregor gets past Donald Cerrone he will fight for the title next. On the other hand, Khabib Nurmagomedov faces Tony Ferguson on April 18th. It’s also possible that Conor might replace Khabib or Tony if one of them gets injured before the title fight. On the other hand, Donald Cerrone is coming off two brutal losses in the lightweight division. Hence it is believed that he would be able to put up a much better performance in the welterweight division against Conor McGregor.
