Darren Till will start a new journey in his martial arts career against Kelvin Gastelum in UFC 244.??
After two consecutive losses in the welterweight division, Darren Till is moving up to middleweight and his debut fight in the division can not be tougher as he faces former title contender, Kelvin Gastelum. Now there are a lot of questions surrounding Till’s next fight. The majority of fans believe that Kelvin Gastelum is a bad matchup for the young fighter from England. Till is likely to be an underdog going into this fight against Gastelum, who went to war against Israel Adesanya for five rounds and came very close to become the interim champion.?

However, Darren Till is confident that he can beat hang around with the best middleweights in UFC even though it’s his first fight in the division. “It’s one of the toughest fights but I truly believe I can beat him and he knows I can beat him. He is not underestimating me, if he is then let’s f***ng start boxing,” said Darren Till in a recent interview with BT Sports.
There is a huge risk involved for Darren Till in this match up. Kelvin Gastelum is one of the best middleweights at the moment if you consider his resume. He was supposed to fight Robert Whittaker for the undisputed title before the champion pulled out of the fight due to a life-threatening injury. Then Gastelum fought Adesanya and came very close to win the fight, even knock out Adesanya. Hence by no means Gastelum is an easy fight for anybody in the division let alone Darren Till who will be making his middleweight debut.?

“Maybe I go in there and get blown out of the water by Kelvin so what? I am taking a chance. I am not afraid of anyone. I don’t want to submit him. I don’t want to take him down and lie over him for three rounds. I want to go out there and punch a hole in his face. And If I get knocked out in the process so what?”
A loss against Gastelum will be Till’s third consecutive loss in UFC. Considering he was fighting for the title a year ago that will be a major downfall. However, Till doesn’t seem too concerned about facing adversities in his next fight. “This could be the third loss, so what? I am going for glory.“
