Colby Covington is setting chaos in the world of MMA right now. Earlier today he buries his teammate from American top team, Jorge Masvidal and now he took a jab at his another teammate Dustin Poirier.
Poirier is going to have the biggest fight of his life this weekend in UFC 242. The interim lightweight champion, Poirier will fight to unify the lightweight title against the unbeaten and undisputed lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov. Going into this much-anticipated fight Poirier is almost a 3 to 1 underdog and rightfully so. Nurmagomedov has dominated every single opponent he has faced in his MMA career including Conor McGregor.
Well, Colby Covington doesn’t seem to disagree with the oddsmakers for the main event as he shares his opinion on social media regarding his teammate’s upcoming title fight. Covington aid:

“We wanna help the people and we wanna make your bank accounts great again.? I am not here to make friends, I am here to make money. So go pound that Khabib money line cause Dustin can’t stop a nose bleed, how he is going to stop a takedown.”
Well, this might rub the fans the wrong way since Covington trains in the same gym as Dustin Poirier does. However, is it really surprising?? Covington also took a jab at his best friend Jorge Masvidal earlier with this comment:
?I know you?re dumb and desperate, but you spelled JOURNEYMAN TITLE wrong junior. Reading is fundamental and super necessary. just Like WINNING is super necessary to get title fights. You should try them both some time, You trash bag.?
Apparently both Covington and Masvidal have some impressive wins under their belts to argue for a title shot. Covington mauled Robbie Lawler for five rounds in his last fight and Masvidal made history by knocking out Ben Askren five seconds. So it was about time these two best friends would turn on each other.
One thing Colby Covington does better than any other fighters in UFC at the moment is generating nuclear heat with his statements. His comments on his teammates Jorge Masvidal and Dustin Poirier are nothing but another element to his gimmick. Well to be fair, he does pick wrestlers over strikers in a matchup as he chose Daniel Cormier in his fight against Stipe Miocic.
