It took Conor McGregor just 40 seconds to beat Donald Cerrone at the UFC 246. 40 seconds to mark his return. 40 seconds to show people he is still one of the top fighters in the UFC arena.
The two fighters came into a grapple as the fight started. A few seconds later, a thunderous left kick from McGregor almost unsettled Cerrone. The Irishman capitalized on it and finished it with a few more punches, leaving the Cowboy bleeding.

McGregor was coming back to the UFC circuit after he had announced his retirement in March 2019. After obtaining unprecedented success in UFC, McGregor had become relatively inactive after his first UFC loss in 2016. In 2018, after a series of controversies and after a while out from MMA, McGregor fought Khabib Nurnmagomedov and lost via submission in the fourth round.
Saturday’s fight marked the return of McGregor after two years. And he came back in some fashion registering his second fastest win in his UFC career.
