A rollercoaster test match between Sri Lanka and Australia came to an end with Sri Lankan side proving to be the better of the two and defeating the first ranked test side by 106 runs. The Lankan side at one moment looked far behind the Aussies but ton from Kusal Mendis turned the test match in Sri Lanka’s favour.
The Sri Lankan spinners then did their task very efficiently and did not allow the Aussies to nudge ahead in the fourth innings . In Spite of the resistance shown by Steve Smith and other batsmen lower down the order, Aussies couldn’t save the match.
The Australian side on the other hand made a very unique record of facing the most number of balls without making a single run. The Australian side were 161-8 in the end of 63rd over and remained so till the end of innings and got bundled out at 161 in 89th over. Their batsmen faced a total of 154 deliveries and did not make a single run. Many cricketers reacted to this weird record through twitter.
