The Day 2 of the Third and Final Test was all about India’s domination. Indian Skipper Virat Kohli scored his second Test-match double-hundred and his deputy Ajinkya Rahane scored 188 before India declared at 557 for 5. Virat and Rahane put on 365, India’s highest partnership for the fourth wicket, which resulted in three wicketless session for the visitors.
The duo had a supreme command on their shots and the understanding between the two was heartening to see. Rahane made his Eighth Test hundred before lunch. A man who has runs all around the globe and has at least scored 90+ runs in an innings in the last 9 Test series India has played. Post the lunch session Virat made his 2nd double hundred and that too as skipper which is a record. Post tea when it looked like India will go all guns blazing, Jeetan Patel finally broke through in the first over after tea as he dismissed Kohli for 211. Soon Rahane being a team man in hurry to add runs for the team got out to Boult on 188, thereby missing on his maiden double hundred. Rohit Sharma, who made 51* and Ravindra Jadeja added quick runs to get India to 557/5 before declaring and left Kiwis a tricky nine overs to bat out at the end of day two.

The #Dravid of today, Ajinkya Rahane 's innings, was a few shy of a double ton. But still worth its weight in gold. Great stuff. 🙏🏼👍🏼

Ajinkya Rahane OUT On 188. Missed Double Century By Just 12 Runs.Feeling Sad. Truly Deserved A Double Ton.

Took a single against a spinner on 98 to face the next over from a fast bowler on 99. That pretty much sums up Ajinkya Rahane. 👏👏
