India defeated West Indies by 237 runs despite losing the entire third day due to rain in the third test. To win a Test match by 237 runs after losing an entire day and with?a session and a half?remaining is a big achievement. Players ably?played a?huge role in this Victory. Saha and Ashwin’s Partnership were crucial and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar took?Five wickets on day four which turned the course of this Test after a washout on Thursday. Then, on Day 5, success with the ball was equally distributed.
Shami struck in both his spells, Bhuvneshwar got Braithwate early on, Ishant Sharma grabbed two big wickets including his bunny Samuels and the spin combo of Ashwin and Jadeja each took a wicket to add to a huge win.
Survival was never going to be easy for West Indies on day five of the St Lucia Test, but they never tried. It was easy for India. Setting a target of 346, the home team subsided to 108 and?hardly offered a fight, giving India an unassailable 2-0 lead heading to Trinidad. On the truest surface of the series, this was very shoddy batting from the home team that had produced a heroic final day draw in Jamaica to deny India victory in the 2nd Test.?This is the first?time that?India has won two tests in a series in the Caribbean Islands and looks good to make it three by winning the last and fourth test. In 2015 India lost the first Test match against SriLanka. Since then, this is the ninth successive test that India are still unbeaten under Virat Kohli?s captaincy, winning 7 and drawing 2 matches in the period.

India win. A little easier than even they would have anticipated but this has been a fine bowling performance.

This series was never about whether or not India wins but how it does. On that count it has been good.
