South Africa secured a much needed win against Afghanistan on Sunday evening at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Batting first, South Africa posted a mammoth total of 209 for the loss of 5 wickets.
AB de Villiers was at his brilliant best as he scored 64 runs off just 29 balls with a strike rate of 220.68. Quinton de Kock & Francois du Plessis contributed with 45 & 41 respectively.
It was always a tough ask for the Afghanistan side but Mohammad Shahzad gave them the perfect start as he scored a quick-fire 41 off just 19 balls before getting bowled out to Chris Morris. Chris Morris took 3 more wickets & ended the game with a figure of 4/27 as the Proteas won the game quite comfortably by 37 runs.

What a fantastic effort by Afghanistan to get within 30 of SA. Excellent team. Better than Bangladesh IMO. Should be in the next wcup.

Who'd have thought we'd see a South African bowler get so riled by an Afghanistan batsman that he'd feel the need to give him a send-off?

Imagine how good Shahzad will be once Afghanistan are a team of true international class
