Sri Lanka pace spearhead Lasith Malinga has called it quits from the One Day Internationals. He ended up with 338 wickets,  the 9th highest wicket-taker in ODI after playing the first ODI against Bangladesh in their three-match ODI series. He took 3 wickets in the final game and helped his side to register a 91-run win.

Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first. Although openers Avishka Fernando and Dimuth Karunaratne fell for 7 and 36 respectively, Kusal Perera smashed a blitzy ton. He scored 111 off 99. Along with him, Kusal Mendis and Angelo Mathews scored 43 and 48 respectively and took Sri Lanka to 314 after 50 overs. Shafiul Islam bagged 3 wickets while Mustafizur Rahman took 2 for Bangladesh.

In reply, Bangladesh lost their opener Tamim Iqbal for a 5-ball duck. Another opener Soumya Sarkar too fell very cheaply. Both the openers became the victim of Lasith Malinga. Although Mushfiqur Rahim and Sabbir Rahman tried their best to resurrect the chase, Lasith Malinga and Nuwan Pradeep’s 3 wickets each and Dhananjaya de Silva’s 2 wickets ended Bangladesh’s innings within 223, claiming a convincing victory.
