The 2022 Formula One season is just around the corner but it seems the last year’s champion constructor Mercedes ran into some major trouble claims, their ace driver Lewis Hamilton.

The Silver Arrow showcased an amazing performance in the testing in Barcelona last month. But Mercedes failed to repeat the same performance in Bahrain. Lewis Hamilton came in 15th on the last day of the Bahrain testing before George Russell took over for the afternoon session.

While Mercedes failed to shine in the Bahrain testing, F1 teams like Ferrari, McLaren, showcased an outstanding performance. Even rival Red Bull was excellent on the third day of the Bahrain testing.

After completing the test sessions in Bahrain, Hamilton revealed that driving in the Bahrain heat and on the bumpy tracks is difficult. But the German constructor even failed to impress during last season’s testing but won the first race. However, the seven-time world champion doesn’t believe that they can repeat the same feat.

Hamilton expressed to Motorsport, “It feels very different now. I don’t think we’re going to look as good as last year, in terms of how we turned the situation around before the race.”

Lewis Hamilton thinks Ferrari will win Bahrain GP

The 2022 Bahrain pre-season hasn’t been in the favour of the German constructors. However, the legendary Italian constructors were phenomenal in the Bahrain heat. Even both the Mercedes drivers admire the Ferrari car. Further, Lewis Hamilton even favors the Italian team to dominate the upcoming season opener.

“I really don’t know. I think Ferrari, from what I can see, today Ferrari would probably be getting a 1-2 or maybe Red Bull,” Hamilton reported to Crash.

However, the Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz rejects those praises. The Spaniard believes Mercedes will repeat the history in Bahrain GP. Even in the past seasons, the German constructor failed to impress at the pre-season testing. But then took the top spot in F1 as the season started.

The pre-season testing in Bahrain is over for the seven-time world champion; therefore, he would return back to the Brackley base and eliminate the problems of the W13. The Brit will return with the 2022 challenger in the first race, which is only a few days away.
