The seven-time Super Bowl champ?s critique occasioned a lengthy debate on whether or not Josh Allen needs to change his playing style as Tom Brady suggested. ?Absolutely not,? opined Cris Carter, former NFL wide receiver and Hall of Famer. According to Carter, the Bills? quarterback should not alter his playing style and go against the grain since that is what makes him who he is. However, Chris Broussard asserts, ?Tom Brady is right,? supporting the legend’s decision to articulate the required checks on Josh Allen. He abruptly draws unfavorable parallels with Chief?s tight end Travis Kelse to put weightage on Brady’s words, saying, ?I don’t trust Travis Kelse when it comes to valuing the chief’s offense, I do trust Tom Brady when it comes to valuing,?
However, Carter continues to substantiate his stance stating that irrespective of the fact that Tom Brady is the GOAT, one should not forget that Brady was ?a pocket-passing nonathletic quarterback that was phenomenal? but he was not even close to being as athletic as Josh Allen. A major part of Josh Allen?s success lies in his ability to make important runs and impromptu ?ill-advised? but necessary decisions. But how can Josh Allens? playing style leave a negative impact on the longevity of his career? Tom Brady, details it out for all.

Brady warns Allen of putting himself ?in harm’s way??
During their podcast conversation, Brady emphasized that Josh Allen, who frequently runs the football and engages in contact with defenders, should consider reducing the physical toll on his body. Brady expressed concern that Allen’s style, while effective in running, might lead to him scrambling excessively and taking avoidable hits from opposing defenses. ?From my standpoint, you?re putting yourself in harm?s way. And when you put yourself in harm?s way, it doesn?t take much for someone to land on you to set you back,? explained the retired quarterback.

Brady?s advice sides with what both head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane expressed during the previous offseason. Both voiced concerns about the number of hits that Josh Allen was enduring. Beane specifically mentioned his worries about the physical toll on Allen, highlighting the need for adjustments. It is important to note, however, that for Brady and other NFL analysts, Aleen?s playing style may be studded with ?ill-advised decisions? maybe, but for Josh Allen it is only ?instinctive.?
