The Toro Rosso Honda team will be without the services of Pierre Gasly [https://www.essentiallysports.com/exclusive-interview-gasly-honda-stint/] for the 2019 season. In his place, will be the returning Daniil Kvyat and his teammate will be Alexander Albon. Meanwhile, Gasly himself will be promoted to the Red Bull Honda team alongside Max Verstappen. To thank the Frenchman for all that he has done with the team, the Toro Rosso team did a bit of a throwback. On their Twitter page, they posted a video of Gasly in his GP2 days racing at Spa Francorchamps. Gasly danced around the outside of Oliver Rowland through Eau Rouge in a stunning move. Somehow, he made it through without any contact and a place higher. Eau Rouge is said to be one of the most iconic corners in motor racing and to pull off a move like that is the stuff of legend. Now, Gasly will be going up against Max Verstappen next season and the battle between them is sure to be epic.

Spa-Francorchamps circuit that stages the Belgian Grand Prix is situated in the midst of a scenic surrounding. The circuit has hosted enthralling races since 1925. Combined with the unprecedented weather activity that makes the race more thrilling and extremely challenging.

The racing track in Belgium constructed in 1921 was registered under the F1 calendar in 1925. It has staged 75 races over the course of its existence.

The circuit, at present, after the addition of new pit lanes and Bus Stop chicane, measures 7.004 kilometers with 19 turns. It comprises 44 laps with a racing distance of 308.052 kilometers. The grid has quick, complicated, tricky corners, chicanes, turns, and bridges. The first sector is the interesting of all. The hairpin turn 1 is famous for pile-ups during race starts.

And then arrives the world-famous Eau Rouge, which witnesses a steep rise in altitude, almost leaving the drivers facing the sky followed by a massive Kemmel straight, before reaching the tricky section of corners, named Les Combes.

Despite the unprecedented weather situation, it is a beloved track. The circuit demands proper development of skills and strategies along with the speed to stand tall in the race.

<h2><strong>Pierre Gasly 2021: Net Worth, Salary, and Endorsements</strong></h2>
Pierre Gasly made his Formula One debut in 2017 for the Toro Rosso team. He filled in for the ousted <a href="https://www.essentiallysports.com/tag/daniil-kvyat/" rel="noopener noreferrer">Daniil Kvyat</a> for two races before being replaced by Brendon Hartley. Later, when Carlos Sainz left for <a href="https://www.essentiallysports.com/category/f1/renault/" rel="noopener noreferrer">Renault</a>, Gasly returned for the remainder of the season.

He made his full-time debut in 2018, alongside teammate Hartley, for <a href="https://www.essentiallysports.com/category/f1/toro-rosso/" rel="noopener noreferrer">Toro Rosso</a>. His impressive performances in the sister team earned him a call-up to the Red Bull Formula 1 team for the 2019 season.

Unfortunately, he was fairly underwhelming when pitted against the Dutch phenom, Max Verstappen. So, he was demoted to Toro Rosso mid-season- after the race in Hungary. Following this, his performances displayed a complete turnaround.
<h2><strong>Pierre Gasly: Stats and On-track </strong><b>Achievements</b></h2>
Having only just started his F1 career, the young Frenchman does not boast of significant records or performances. His best performance is the win at Monza, Italy in 2020.

Gasly faced his toughest challenge in 2019, in the form of <a href="https://www.essentiallysports.com/tag/max-verstappen/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Max Verstappen</a>. Having earned a promotion to <a href="https://www.essentiallysports.com/category/f1/red-bull/" rel="noopener noreferrer">Red Bull</a>, he had the chance to fight for wins and podiums.

Sadly, as mentioned before, he wilted under the pressure and was demoted to Toro Rosso as a result. However, he has suddenly regained his mojo, and it has translated to a maiden podium in Brazil.

In a relatively short career spanning merely 64 Grand Prix starts, Gasly's scored 199 points and two fastest laps, with two podiums and one win to his name. He achieved a career-best finish of seventh in the Championship standings last year.

In 2016, Gasly was involved in a serious accident in Silverstone, which left his mother critically injured. The crash injured Pierre's vertebrae.
