The opening day of the Kolkata Test between India and New Zealand saw a shaky start to the Indian innings due to dismissals of the top order batsmen. After being reduced to?46/3, innings was re-consolidated by a 141- run stand between Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara as both the batsmen chipped in with half-centuries.
Although the post-lunch session went wicket-less, by the end of the day’s play, the visitors seized back the advantage by taking four wickets in the final session and leaving India in all sorts of trouble at 239/7 at stumps.
