Fernando Alonso
Fernando Alonso made his debut way back in 2001 for the Minardi team. Since then, he has moved to Renault, winning 2 championships in the process. He jumped ship to McLaren in 2007 before going back to Renault a year later. After a fruitless stint with Ferrari, he went back to McLaren. He stepped away at the end of the 2018 season and left behind plenty of memories and hilarious radio messages.

During the 2012 Bahrain Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso was tussling with Nico Rosberg when the latter executed defensive manoeuvres. But Alonso felt that Rosberg was a bit too aggressive and he made his feelings clear over the radio. He said, “Ok he pushed me off the track I think you have to leave a space. All the time you have to leave a space! Ok? Understood?”
Meanwhile, Sebastian Vettel had a grand old time mocking Alonso’s message in the Spanish GP press conference.
I Love Your Sense of Humour
During the 2015 Russian Grand Prix, the McLaren Honda was struggling at the back, as usual. Alonso was informed by the team on lap 34 that they were racing Felipe Massa till the end. Alonso’s only reply was, “I love your sense of humour”. Unfazed, the engineer replied, “Well maybe we can have some fun trying anyway.”

It is no secret that the McLaren Honda was an absolute dog of a car. During the 2015 Japanese GP, Alonso was seriously struggling for pace. Sometime in the middle of the race, he was just a sitting duck as he was being passed, left, right and centre.
As he was being overtaken by a Toro Rosso, Alonso’s frustration boiled over. He angrily screamed over the radio, “GP2 Engine! GP2 Engine! Argh!”
