It is a common trend that when a game becomes extremely popular, many developers release imitations of the game. Among Us, a game that became extremely popular during the worldwide lockdown for COVID-19, was no exception to this trend. Many developers across the world tried their hand at creating different iterations of the popular party game.
Here are the top 5 versions of this game that caught our eye!

The original version of Among Us never released in China because of the complicated process of releasing games in the country. However, Chinese developers created their own localized version of the game, known as ‘Werewolves Among Us’. The game gained immense popularity in the region, with almost 500K downloads in just one week.
Although the basic structure of the maps is more or less similar to the original game, there are some stark differences. The map, set in a medieval castle, differs from the spaceship we see in the original game. Similarly, the background music for the Chinese version differs from the eerie background music that we hear in Among Us. They have opted for a more cheerful background score.
The tasks that the players have to complete are also in keeping with the medieval setting of the map. For instance, players have to fix broken walls in the castle.
Finally, as the name suggests, the imposter in this game is actually a werewolf.
The Chinese version of Among Us is loosely based on Werewolf, which was a game introduced in China years ago. The game also holds some semblance to the Russian game, Mafia.
Murder Us
While Werewolf Among Us is one clone of the game that seems very interesting to play, not all the developers were successful in doing the same.
Murder Us is one such poorly created version of the game.
By public opinion, Murder Us allegedly has a very unimpressive design; however, this version of the game, too, has millions of downloads.
Published by Cheshirexx, this game is exclusively available for Android smartphone users.
3D Among Us
Dani had previously created a clone of the popular game Fall Guys, known as Bean Guys. After that clone became a massive hit with his fans, he created this 3D imitation of Among Us on popular demand. This version, however, is not available to the public yet.
This version of Among Us became a massive hit after it appeared on popular YouTuber MrBeast’s channel. Speaking about it in a video on his channel, Dani said that he had developed this clone in a week or two. However, he confessed that the game was harder to develop than he had initially thought it would be.
MrBeast teamed up with other known faces such as LazarBeam, Jacksepticeye, and Dani himself to play a rather fun game of 3D Among Us. The video garnered about 6 million views in a single day.

3D Version by Fat Dino
Dani was not the only YouTuber who tried his hand at developing a 3D version of Among Us. A popular YouTuber and game developer called Fat Dino successfully made a very realistic version of the game with insanely cool graphics.
The maps, characters, and tasks are detailed and accurate. Sadly, this version of the game is not available for public use yet either. Understandably, however, most fans cannot wait to try out this highly realistic version of the game.
Gameboy Version
Taking a trip down memory lane, one game developer put in the effort to create a version of Among Us that people can play on a Gameboy!
People can play this version of the game on a web browser, but the creator has made a version that people can install on an actual Gameboy. It is fully functional and has the Gameboy classic design of pixel art form.

Unfortunately, this version of the game is only available in Spanish. So if you are not familiar with the language, it could be difficult for you to understand what’s going on. The game is also a work in progress, so many parts of the map are inaccessible still.
