CM PUNK!!! A chant that has been a constant for the past 7 years. The Chicago native finally made his much-anticipated return on AEW Rampage. While there were teases and pokes made for the past month regarding this event, it was surreal as it took place. CM Punk came out to Cult of Personality and the packed crowd may as well have caused a minor earthquake.

Punk took his time, living the moment, pacing the ramp slowly. Grown men were in tears, fans shouting at the top of their lungs. This was the event a lot of fans wished. It seemed a pipedream for many years, but it has happened and he is back. The Voice of the Voiceless took to Twitter and issued a simple yet effective statement upon his return. I’m Back.

What Are the Plans for CM Punk?

As Punk slowly moved to the ring, and cut a promo about his absence, his time off from wrestling. The crowd listened like eager students. Every word, every statement was important to us fans. Punk revealed he was back to wrestle; he is here for the young talent. He added he wants to give the fans real pro wrestling.

In a rather controversial statement, he said the last time he wrestled was on his last day in Ring of Honour. The statement marvelled some fans, while some fans definitely erred to the same. Punk also stated that apart from being invested in young talent, he would also like to settle scores. This is an interesting proposition as fans have been booking fantasy matches for ages and now they can come true.

Punk also quoted, “I have a few scores to settle in this locker room“. This now is very interesting to ponder on. As people are aware of his fractured friendship with Colt Cabana after their Court case. There have also been moments where Chris Jericho has called out Punk. With the Forbidden door open, prospects of matches between Punk and Ospreay are also bright. One thing is for sure, with Punk’s arrival, AEW has caused a paradigm shift.
