For the past decade, no other Olympian has won more gold medals than Michael Phelps. That record may not be broken, however, there is a new challenger to the throne. Caeleb Dressel won five gold medals at Tokyo Olympics 2020 and created history. Possessing a humble personality, the US swimmer dominated the pool in Japan. Moreover, he created two World records and two Olympic records. After his success in Japan, Caeleb recreated a childhood picture with medals earned in Tokyo.

The picture saw him posing in front of the ranch with his five gold medals around his neck. Dressel cemented his legacy as one of the best swimmers in the world. It is a perfect throwback to his glorious performance in Tokyo.

Likewise, the swimmer was reminiscent of Phelps’ hay days in the Games. Coming with huge expectations from his country, Caeleb won all his swimming races with complete perfection. A professional performance from the talented swimmer. Most of his diets and workouts were well documented. But, the pressure never bothered him.
Earlier, he spoke about swimming for himself rather than winning to match Phelps’ legacy. His love for racing and competitiveness lead him to swim and it looks to be going in the perfect direction.
Dressel brought his A-game to Japan
Until now, he had only won a gold medal in Rio 2016 while competing in the relay event. After that, Dressel became a household name in major swimming tournaments. Significantly he won seven gold medals in the 2017 World Championships. Fast forward two years, Caeleb added six more gold and won two silver medals in the 2019 World Championships.
The boy moved forward and became the best swimmer in the world.

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics saw him win the 50 and 100-meter freestyle, 100-meter butterfly, and two relay events to take his tally to five. If he goes at this rate, the swimmer is expected to dominate Paris as well. But time will tell whether he can repeat his antics in France.
Dressel’s dominance in the swimming events saw him leapfrogging many talented swimmers. The world records just add to his already impressive career. What more to expect from Caeleb is up to him but he is the best swimmer in the world, right now.
