Leading Slovenia into their first Olympic basketball berth, Doncic is now leading them through the NBA as well. He has accumulated 17 points in the first quarter alone. He is the only player in the game with over 10 points as of now.
Luka brought out his ‘Luka Magic’ at just the right time. In addition, coming into the Olympics, Luka led the Slovenians in points, assists, and rebounds per game. Luka Doncic scored 31 points in the finals against Lithuania to guide Slovenia to their first Olympic appearance.
Doncic has continued his momentum from the NBA onto the International stage when many other stars are struggling. He looks as comfortable as ever on the court. This goes to show his versatility going from NBA rules back to international.
Much of the credit goes to his time playing in Spain with Real Madrid.
Slovenia in the driver’s seat
With a 20 point lead at the half, Slovenia is cruising past the Argentinians. Luka Doncic has scored half of Slovenia’s points as he has 31 at halftime. Apart from his performance, Mike Tobey has scored 7 points.
For Argentina, it is Nuggets guard Campazzo who has 11 points. Off the bench, Gabriel Deck has contributed valuably with 8 points so far. However, it is 41 YO Luis Scola who is leading them with 12 points of his own.
