In the ‘Actions Detrimental with Denny Hamlin’ podcast Allen and Hamlin discussed some mean tweets from NASCAR fans. One of the tweets by a fan that Allen spoke of was, “Well ,there goes that deal I’ll never watch again. Denny Hamlin is one of the dirtiest I’ve seen in 50 years of racing. He acts like it’s never his fault.”
Listening to the tweet, the 23XI Racing owner exclaimed and said, “Oh my gosh! Like this could not be more untrue. Like, I’m posting pictures of me wrecking Chase and getting a pie to the face.” Though the fan feels that Hamlin plays dirty and doesn’t own up, the three-time Daytona 500 winner doesn’t agree. He said, “What are they talking about? I take accountability when I feel like it is my fault. The problem is, it’s usually not my fault. So you know, I’m just trying to be real here. And if you look at the tally of how many times the #11 car gets the bat into the deal, it is way tipped. Not in my favor, we got to level the scale.”
