American tennis player Serena Williams is a living legend on the WTA Tour. The manner in which she has dominated the sport over the last two decades has been sensational. However, there is a lot of hard work and dedication that has led to her unprecedented success, and it can’t be achieved alone.
Serena trains under Patrick Mouratoglou and works with the retired tennis professional Jarmere Jenkins, as her hitting partner.

Serena Williams’ hitting partner talks about the WTA Tour
In a recent podcast appearance, Jenkins mentioned that amongst the men, they practice with each other during tournaments despite knowing the fact they would be facing each other along the course of the competition. However, the case in the women’s section is entirely opposite. The grudges amongst the players in the women’s section are more, according to him.
He recently spoke about why there are more male hitting partners as compared to females. He said, “The girls don’t like each other at the end of the day. You see, in some tournaments certain guys are going to play each other and you’ll see them warming up with each other. You’ll never see that on the women’s side.”

The 31-year-old former player stated, “So that’s where this hitting part came from. The girls play a match and something happens and they won’t talk to each other for years. About the guys, they sit in the locker room and go about their day. I mean, the girls, there are more grudge feelings there.”
Coming to tennis, Serena Williams has not competed since the Wimbledon Championships. Sadly, she injured herself in the opening round, which led her to retire from the match midway.
