Bungie has made a name for itself in the MMORPG genre with the popular franchise of Destiny. The series’ latest title in Destiny 2 has gained a lot of critical and commercial success following a slow start. Fans expected a lot from the game after the first title gained a lot of fan following, and some fans believe that it’s worthy of being the sequel.

However, before the success of Destiny, Bungie created the iconic FPS franchise for Xbox in Halo. Following the success of the series’ first title in Halo: Combat Evolved, the company also worked on the next two titles of the franchise. Since the studio’s split from Microsoft in 2007, fans have rarely heard the developers talk about its first major franchise. However, it seems like it’s about to change soon.

Is Bungie working on a collaboration with Halo for Destiny 2?

For the past few weeks, the developers at Bungie have teased about the future of Destiny 2. They have stated that the future is quite bright, and fans should be excited for it. Fans will know more about the future of this game soon following the end of Season of the Splicer.

Along with that, recently, Bungie has also talked about the company’s great relationship with Xbox and Microsoft. The company had an ugly split from Microsoft, which even caused the developer to sign an exclusive deal for Destiny with PlayStation. But the relationship has improved over the years, the result being the inclusion of Destiny 2 in the Xbox Game Pass.

With an improvement in the relationship between the two companies, fans picked up on some subtle Halo references from Bungie. The developers even used terms from the popular FPS franchise on This Week at Bungie blog posts. This caused the suspicion to grow more, and fans now believe that a crossover will definitely happen soon.

Season of the Splicer in Destiny 2 will end on August 24. Along with that, the game’s next big expansion involving Savathun, the Witch Queen will only start during the early months of 2022. Between the two, the developers won’t have a lot to show for with the game’s storyline. Season 15 of the game will end somewhere around November 24. This will be nine days after the 20th anniversary of the Halo franchise, which began with the release of Combat Evolved on November 15, 2001.

With the content slowing down during Winter, it makes perfect sense for Bungie to introduce this crossover around the anniversary. Along with that, 343 Industries will also generate a lot of hype during the release of the franchise’s latest iteration in Halo: Infinite. So the release of the crossover should benefit Destiny 2 and the Halo series as well.
