Gael Monfils’ poor run at the Grand Slam events

The pair began their tennis season in Australia. Unfortunately, Gael lost in the opening round of the Australian Open while Elina did have a good run until the fourth round when she exited the event.

They didn’t fare much better at the French Open either as the Frenchman exited in the second round whereas his fiancé lost in the third. In their last Grand Slam before US, both of the players exited in the second round.

Monfils had a great run during the US Open Series events. However, in the US Open, he lost to Italian youngster Jannik Sinner in an epic five-set thriller in the third round. On the other hand, Svitolina came as far as the quarterfinal. Unfortunately, she lost to the eventual finalist and teenager Leylah Fernandez. We wish the married couple the very best for the remainder of the season.
