Not only humans, but horses also prove themselves to pass the test of time on the equestrian stage. There are some horses that fall ill after the age of 3 or 4 for various reasons, but on the other hand, there are racehorses like Channel Maker. At the age of 9 Channel Maker conquered the 65th running race of Bowling Green. He won over two hundred fifty thousand dollars for his trainer in Green Bowling.
On Sunday, in Saratoga Race Horse Grade 2, Channel Maker won with a 1 3/8 mile inner turf test conducted for older horses. He made his trainer Bill Mott proud who said it was the right decision to send Channel Maker for this competition. This was a golden chance for the horse to prove himself and he did not back down from it and made victory.

Channel Maker is a thoroughbred racing horse owned by Watchel Stable, Gary Barbel, R.A Hill Stable, and Reeves Thoroughbred Racing. Since the Grand Courtier at Belmont Park in 2022, it was Maker’s first win in an equestrian race. In grade 1 held in May, Channel was beaten by a score of 1 1/ 2 lengths, and his incredible comeback to tracks made the Bowling Green event historic. After seeing this extraordinary performance, Mott said, “The old man came through. He ran really well.”
According to Paulick Report, Channel made his first turn with a ratio of 25:40 after bumping into his competitor with his rider Manny Franko. He then made two other turns to set a good footing in the race. Channel defeated the Verstappen, Tawny Port, and Daunt while running comfortably on the tracks. Channel Maker secured his 10th victory in a flat turf race after speeding the pace and leaving the competitors behind in Sunday’s race. This iconic win certainly made his trainers and owners very proud, who are now planning to send Channel Maker to other competitions.

Channel Maker will be entering new equestrian races
The 9-year-old thoroughbred horse won the Grade 2 race held on 30th July with jockey Franco who was thrilled to see Channel cooperating with his tactics and winning exactly how he wanted. Franco said, “He really enjoys it when he’s on the front end, and he proved it again today. The pace helped me a lot. I knew I was the lone speed in the race.” His co-owner Watchel said there is a possibility to see Channel Maker competing in the Resort World Casino in the Grade 1 race which is scheduled on August 26. That would be worth $750,000 to win in the event for the second time after 2020.
