Robin van Persie finds himself in an unusual situation at Manchester United. With Dutch manager Louis van Gaal coming in, it was widely expected that fellow Dutchman van Persie would become club captain given his fantastic rapport with van Gaal. But, what transpired for him, was a season which never took off, largely due to all the injuries. van Persie himself admitted, that his 10 goal tally in the 2014-15 season was at-least 7 short.
The 31-year old striker said, “ It’s my ambition to play the next years. I’m thinking about my family and my children with every decision I take. These are very important for me. I’m a real family guy. I think it’s fantastic to see how happy my children and wife are”. This preseason, Manchester United take part in the International Champions Cup in U.S.A, featuring other great teams like PSG and Barcelona. This could be the most important pre-season for Robin van Persie as he will be keen to show his worth, especially with teams like Lazio and Juventus showing an interest in the striker. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, and whether van Persie will stay at Manchester United beyond the summer.
