The collaboration between Federer and Oliver Peoples was announced recently by a Swiss-German news outlet, which earlier shared the news that the new eyewear line was in the works.

Roger Federer is an individual who is highly marketable. The former world number 1 is quite the approachable figure as he maintains a humble image on and off the court. He is currently working with the renowned Swiss shoe company ‘On’, and has deals with brands such as Uniqlo and Rolex. Recently, the 20-time Grand Slam champion added another company to his portfolio.
After adding the sunglasses line to his already impressive resume, Federer went on to talk about the collaboration with GQ. In the interview, he discussed his inspiration to invest in the field. As per the former player, he found the motivation to enter this field from Tom Cruise. In the Hollywood movie Mission Impossible II, Federer loved the glasses worn by Tom Cruise.

The pair of glasses were Oakley Romeo which was worn in the free-climbing scene. The glasses self-destruct after Cruise’s character throws them at the camera. “Iconic,” he called the moment. “The moment has stuck with me,” continued Federer.
