He cheekily said, “The first goal was to make sure the belly disappeared again, after eating so much delicious ice cream.”

On a more serious note, he spoke about his disastrous first half of the season and how far he has drifted from Hamilton. He confessed, “I have to do my job in the best possible way. I have to be critical with myself because I didn’t do the best possible job here and there. We are not where we want to be, we are the ones who have to catch up. But we work passionately on it.”

So far, neither Sebastian Vettel or Charles LeClerc have scored a single race win this season. Ferrari’s strategy has also let them down on a number of occasions. Admittedly, they should have had at least two race wins, namely Bahrain, which would have gone to LeClerc. Similarly, Sebastian Vettel should have won in Canada, but both drivers, cruelly lost out.
Now, Sebastian Vettel and Charles LeClerc have a chance to wipe the slate clean in the second half of the season. The German and the Monegasque driver are fresh from the summer break and ready to turn their season around and salvage something from it. The only question that remains is, can Ferrari win a few races in 2019 and stop Mercedes from running too far away?
