WBO Welterweight champion Terence Crawford has made a lot of money from the sport of boxing. It is safe to say that he likes spending his money on expensive things like jewelry, cars, houses, and more which he has done for the better part of his career. However, the problem with such a lifestyle is the risk of getting robbed at any point in time, which is what happened to the WBO champion.

It was recently revealed that Crawford’s home was robbed with many of his valuable possessions, including cash, electronics, and jewelry, all being taken away from him. Moreover, the loss was so substantial that the three-division champion has even announced a reward for any information about the suspect(s).

Crawford took to his Instagram Story and announced a $100,000 reward. He stated that any person having information about the culprit who stole his jewelry will be entitled to the reward. “I got 100k for who ever know who broke in my house and stole my jewelry,” he wrote.

The robbery reportedly occurred in the early hours of the morning on March 13, 2023, while Crawford was away from home. Moreover, this has left Crawford understandably shaken, and he has expressed his disappointment at the violation of his home and privacy. However, his offer of a substantial reward for any information that could help identify the suspects is a clear indication of his willingness to get back his possessions. Meanwhile, the WBO has ordered Crawford to make his next title defense. WBO also revealed the opponent. Who could it be?

Who has WBO ordered Crawford to make his next title defense against?

The WBO has now ordered its champion to make another title defense this year. According to ESPN, the council has told Crawford to start negotiations with Alexis Rocha, ranked No. 3 by the organization. In addition, both parties have 20 days to finalize the bout which will otherwise go to a purse bid.

“Terence Crawford’s mandatory defense window has expired, he needs to do his mandatory [fight], since he hasn’t done one since he fought against Shawn Porter [in November 2021]. Crawford fought [David] Avanesyan, but that wasn’t a mandatory defense,” said the WBO president.

Crawford is a free agent following his split from Top Rank. However, he has only competed once as a free agent. Now, this will be his second fight as one and hopefully one day he will face his long-time rival and unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr, a fight the boxing world has longed for but has never materialized.
