Since making their debuts in 1994 and 1998 respectively, Venus and Serena Williams etched their name into women’s tennis immortality. They are the most decorated siblings in tennis, with 30 singles and 14 doubles Grand Slam victories. In addition, they also have an Olympic medal each in women’s singles, while sharing three Olympic gold medals in women’s doubles.

They also held the World No. 1 ranking in women’s singles as well as women’s doubles. Hence, it’s no surprise they garner attention from all corners of the globe over on social media. Raising awareness for a non-profit organisation titled Girls, Inc., Venus held another episode of ‘Wellness with Venus’ with none other than her younger sister.

After going through a workout session, Venus asked her who inspired her to be where she is now. Serena admitted it was her family, while emphasising on Venus. She said“I’ve always been inspired by my Mom and Dad, and definitely you. Because I wouldn’t be here, literally if it wasn’t for your support. You definitely inspired me.”

During her answer, Serena admitted Venus’ success on court and off court with her fashion brand inspired her in life.

Both Williams sisters will take part in women’s singles at the US Open

While Serena ranks #24 in the world, Venus ranks a lowly #147. However, the 41-year-old received a wildcard for the upcoming US Open, which means she will take part in the hard court Grand Slam.

Although Venus‘ chances of clinching her eighth singles Grand Slam look extremely bleak, Serena could clinch her 24th at Flushing Meadows. However, a long injury layoff along with the rise of the competitiveness of players ranked above her puts her chances in jeopardy.
