Although we can’t call it a flaw. But the legend had her own way of identifying and addressing her issues. Here’s what Serena said about the issue she has with her style of playing tennis.
Serena Williams on her playing style
Over the years, we have seen Serena rely heavily on her power. The strong serve and flex of muscles give her that extra time to make her opponent dance. However, talking about her footwork, the legend hasn’t been very nimble. Once in an interview, the former world number one accepted an aspect that she feels is not great about her technique.
“I’m a total klutz, I fall over for no reason. I have a scar on my face because I fell off a bike.” Serena said.
However, the 23-time Grand Slam champion worked over it in Patrick Mouratoglou’s coaching stint and improved a bit. Although it won’t be wrong to say that Serena still relied a lot on her power. It was visible in her last few matches. The legend could not generate the same power after her recent comeback.
Serena looked a bit off and lesser in power as she was out of the game for over one year. Age also played an important role, as the 41-year-old could not maintain stamina for a longer period.

Is Serena up for a comeback?
With her recent statements, Serena Williams hinted at a possible return. The 41-year-old earlier referred to Tom Brady’s retirement U-turn as amazing. Later, she said at an event in San Francisco that she is not retired yet. While there’s no official confirmation but the signs that Serena is giving might point to something big.
However, talking about the technical aspect of her game, the more challenging thing is that will she be able to make a comeback. In her last few matches, we have seen her getting tired. The age and long relaxation have definitely affected her game. If Serene is to seriously reconsider a comeback, the legend will have to prepare a proper comeback strategy and a full-time coach.
