Weddings are the happiest days of people’s lives. Here are some tennis players who got married in 2019.
Divij Sharan & Samantha Murray
Indian doubles’ player Divij Shran and British doubles’ player Samantha Murray got married this year. They had 2 ceremonies – one in Manchester and one in New Delhi. This was to celebrate the cultures of both tennis players which they stated was important to them.

Divij Sharan has won five ATP doubles titles and Samantha Murray has won 20 ITF doubles’ titles. They have said that they want to play mixed doubles together as they are married and it certainly looks like they will be successful.
Nicole Gibbs
Nicole Gibbs is an American Tennis player who has won 7 singles’ titles and 5 doubles’ titles on the ITF circuit. Back in 2018, she got engaged to her boyfriend of six years Jack Body.
They tied the knot in the spookiest of ways exchanging vows in skeleton outfits as part of Halloween. They then went down to Mexico for a beach wedding with their family and friends. This was certainly the happiest day of her life.
Kiki Bertens
Kiki Bertens had an amazing 2019 winning her first Premier Mandatory title and reaching a career-high ranking of world no. 4. Adding to this, she also had the happiest day of her life tying the knot with her physiotherapist Remko de Rijke.
She got married on November 30th, 2019. She shared her wedding photos on Twitter and was wished by many players including Johanna Konta, Elise Mertens, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, and Kristina Mladenovic.
Roberto Bautista Agut
The Spaniard had a good year of tennis reaching his first Grand Slam semifinal at the Wimbledon. Adding to this good year was his marriage to longtime girlfriend Ana Bodi Tortosa.
Roberto Bautista Agut shared photos of his marriage on his social media accounts which was held on November 30th. He was wished by many of his friends on the tour like Alijaz Bedene, Stan Wawrinka and Filip Krajinovic.
Alison Riske
Alison Riske had the best season of her career winning a second WTA title, reaching the Wimbledon quarterfinals and also reaching a career-high ranking of world no.18. In addition to this, she got married to Stephen Amritraj.
Stephen Amritraj also has a connection to tennis being the son of Indian tennis player Anand Amritraj and nephew of Vijay Amritraj. He and Alison Riske got married in Pittsburgh just 2 weeks after she reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals making it the happiest day in both of their lives.
Feliciano Lopez
On 20th September, Feliciano Lopez got the best birthday present he could ever ask for. On his 38th birthday, he got married to his girlfriend Sandra Gago. He was wished by many players including Jame Munar and Milos Raonic.
He shared photos of his wedding the next day and wrote,” I have read many definitions about what happiness means, but none of them comes close to what we lived yesterday with all of you.” This was probably the best birthday of his life.
Caroline Wozniacki
Back in 2017, Caroline Wozniacki got engaged to NBA player David Lee which was even confirmed by her family. After almost 2 years they got married on 16th June 2019 at Tuscany. She was one of the most popular female tennis players who got married this year.
They exchanged vows in an elegant ceremony where her long-time best friend Serena Williams was the bridesmaid. Some other WTA players also attended the ceremony like Angelique Kerber, Agnieszka Radwanska, and Urszula Radwanska. She will be retiring in 2020 to enjoy her marriage with David.
Rafael Nadal
The most trending topic at the time was Rafael Nadal’s wedding to his longtime girlfriend Xisca Perello. He had been in a relationship with her for almost 14 years before announcing the engagement in February of this year. He was one of the tennis players who got married that everyone knew.

They married this year in October after Rafa had a fantastic year winning 2 the French Open and The US Open. Guests at the ceremony included Feliciano Lopez, Fernando Verdasco, and King Juan Carlos I and his wife Queen Sofia. This was probably the highlight of Rafa’s year.
