The 2020 tennis season has been an incredible one for American star Sofia Kenin. At the start of the year, she won her first-ever Grand Slam title at the Australian Open by beating Garbine Muguruza in the final. In addition to that, she also reached the final of the French Open and attained a career-high ranking of World No. 4.
She has clearly enjoyed a lot of success, but Sofia does not want to stop there. That is why she has started preparing for the 2021 season, and she has decided to add a new element to her training.

As you can see, Sofia Kenin is trying her hand at boxing and she is doing pretty well. She is throwing all kinds of punches, be it jabs, crosses, hooks, or uppercuts. If she continues training like this, it is possible that she might compete in professional boxing!
Hold your horses, though, as that is definitely not Kenin’s idea here. She is using boxing as a way to improve her fitness, as it is a very physically demanding activity. This will help her a lot as she is preparing to defend her title at the Australian Open in 2021.

The 2020 Australian Open was one of the last events to be played with a packed stadium. This time, due to the coronavirus pandemic, there will be a significant reduction in the number of specators. Sofia won’t be happy about that, but it shouldn’t really impact her game.
