The J&T Banka Ostrava Open is the penultimate event of WTA, as most tournaments stand canceled due to the pandemic. The tournament at Linz, Austria, will mark the end of the season for the WTA.
American tennis youngster Coco Gauff faced Katerina Siniakova in the Round of 32 of the Ostrava Open 2020. Coco defeated Katerina in straight sets as the scoreline read 7-5, 6-4.
Coco wasn’t really satisfied with her tough fought battle on Tuesday, and she is looking forward to doing well in the upcoming matches in the Czech Republic.

Coco Gauff pocketed the first set in style
The 2-time Grand Slam winner started on a high against Coco. Breaking the 16-year-old’s service, Siniakova took the first game on her side.
The lead lasted no longer than a moment as Coco fired back in the next game itself. She came from behind and returned Siniakova’s serves to break her service and equalize.
The drill was repeated once again as both the players broke their opponent’s service to take the scores to two games each. Coco was a point away from breaking Siniakova’s service, and she did that with a wonderful passing shot.

The American served for the fifth game and put forth an exemplary performance. She successfully dominated the game and pocketed it in no time.
The youngster from the Czech Republic, inspired by Coco’s game, successfully defended her service. After 6 games, the scores read 3 games each. Repeated service holds saw the scores tick towards 4 games each.
Siniakova broke through Coco’s defense once again to lead the set. Although her venture was cut short as Gauff pulled off another amazing return by breaking her opponent’s service before she held on to her service to go 6-5 up in the set.
The American won her third game in a row. Siniakova served to stay in the set. However, her attacks failed to yield the point for her. Coco broke her service once again to seal the set to her name. The scores read 7 games to 5 in favor of the American.

The second set went to the American as well
The youngster from the United States began the second set right where she had left the first one. After she sealed the set, she took an early lead in the second set as she held on to her service.
Katerina Siniakova bounced back soon as she claimed her first game of the second set. She successfully broke Coco’s streak of 4 consecutive games as she held on to her service to equalize the scores at 1-1.
Both the players held on to their services for the next 4 games. The scoreline went from 1 each to 3 each. The second set was yet to see a service break.

Siniakova tried to edge her way in and take a lead, breaking Coco’s service; however, the American saved the situation, and she held on to her service to go 4-3 up in the set.
The lead didn’t last long as she was rattled by Siniakova’s services. Both the players were two games away from taking the set. While Coco Gauff looked at wrapping up the match, Siniakova aimed to save the set and take the match to the final set.

Coco wasted no time in taking the penultimate game with her service. She was a game away from winning the match and needed to break Siniakova’s service to do so.
The young talent from the United States unleashed her lethal side as she returned Siniakova’s services. The 2 time Grand Slam champion failed to resist her aggression as Coco took the set in her favor 6-4.
