Former World Number one Venus Williams has been keeping herself fitter than ever while the tennis tour is shut. She’s working out regularly and behind her astute fitness and trim body, tennis icon consumes a perfect healthy and nutritious diet.
She was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease Sjogren’s Syndrome in 2011. The disease caused terrible pain in her muscles and joints. Post that, she was forced to adapt to veganism. However, she craves for some delicious food and has a cheat day once in a while.
“I started eating raw and vegan for health reasons,” Williams told Women’s Health.“It’s all about moderation. Life is too short to not love what you’re eating. I try to make the majority of my meals raw and vegan, but I’m only human and am known to cheat a little bit. I joke that I’m a ‘chegan’ because sometimes I’ve been known to stray.”

“When I’m training, I really try to practice self-control, but sometimes a girl just needs a donut! I have found it’s easier to curb those cravings by finding foods that are still sweet but also healthy, like a juice or a smoothie. Knowing how important a role my diet plays keeps me on track,” Venus added.
Seven-time Grand Slam Venus isn’t really a big fan of breakfast, in other words, she’s not a morning person. And during the mornings she usually has something light like fruit or a protein shake.
