World Number two Rafael Nadal swept aside the American Taylor Fritz 6-3, 6-2 at Mexican Open 2020 finals. With that victory, Rafa won his first title of the season and third title in Acapulco, Mexico. In the year 2005, as a 19-year-old Nadal was the youngest champion of the tournament.
With the World Number one Novak Djokovic winning the title in Dubai on Saturday, Nadal is 570 points away for the ATP’s summit.
First Set: Rafael Nadal sealed the set

The two men boarded with by holding their service games at 1-1. Fritz wasn’t really playing a lose-game and Rafa did not earn any free points. The young American played some gutsy tennis to save two break points at 2-2.
Fritz produced forehand unforced errors at 4-3 and Nadal comfortably led by a break at 5-3. Without taking much time, Nadal pulled off the set at 6-3.

Set Two: Easy win for Rafa
The set began with the men holding on to their serves. At 2-2, Nadal produced some aggressive shots and with Fritz making errors, Rafa earned three break points.
The American could save two of those with aces, but the last point of the game was played on a second serve. With Fitz placing a wide forehand, Nadal led by a break and a set at 3-2.

After the changeover, Nadal embarked to serve. Before releasing his serve, the chair umpire Carlos Bernardes handed him a time violation warning.

A wide forehand from Nadal gave Fritz the first break point of the match. The resilient Spaniard came up with a forehand that perplexed the American on the other side of the court.
Coming up with two hefty shots Nadal consolidated for a 4-2 lead. Once again Rafa came up with winners and the naive American was broken at 5-2.
While serving for the match Nadal produced an ace that brought up a match point and with making no mistakes, the Spaniard sealed his title on the Acapulco court.
