The US Open 2021 ended on a surprising note. Daniil Medvedev denied Novak Djokovic supremacy over Rafael Nadal & Roger Federer with his maiden championship. Hopes for the 21st Grand Slam and the historic stretch towards a calendar slam, both went down in drain as the Russian prevailed.
In the on-court ceremony, the Serbian accepted Daniil deserved to win more than anyone given his form. But he touched a totally different chord in the post-game press conference when he went all emotional.

Novak Djokovic discussed his family and other priorities
The 34-YO was very much in control of his emotions when he came to the press conference. He discussed what could have been a turning point initially in the second set. Also, he briefly touched upon the fact that the Big Three are still in the game and that he’ll keep stretching for more.

The flawless night of play from Daniil Medvedev certainly pushed the mindset-beast in Novak to the brink.
Djoker and his most recent post with family
Notably, Novak has two kids, Tara Djokovic (4) and Stefan Djokovic (6), who often travel with their parents to the tours. But did Djoker mean he’d skip more tournaments to spend family time? It’s best known to him.

Jelena Djokovic is a proud wife and her recent tweet about a blog-post she had made for her husband is living proof. She was there in the box to cheer for Djoker all through the tournament, and perhaps Novak owes her and the family some personal time.
